How Not to Use a Laptop
- Group Video Project -

The title of this project is How Not to Use a Laptop. It was created by myself and three teammates for our IM113 class and submitted on October 28th, 2009. The guidlines for this project were as follows:

This is a group project. Using a MiniDV Camera, iMovie 06 and iDVD, your team will shoot, edit and produce a 30 sec - 1:00 video.

Your movie will be a 30 sec - 1 minute joke. Find material and submit your script to your lab instructor for review. All scripts must be approved before production starts. The material should follow basic three-act narrative structure - the setup, the action & the payoff.

It must contain "A" roll (that carries the story), "B" roll (cutaways and details for editing and effect), sound effects, audio narration (sound booth), ambient sound, original music (no "jingles" or other pre-canned music) and titles. Make sure to distribute responsibility amongst all team members.

When the final edit is done, you must "Share" two different versions of your movie. Under the "Share" menu pulldown in iMovie HD, select QuickTime. Select "Web" and save a version of you movie as "titleweb". Once that is saved, again go under the "Share" menu pulldown in iMovie HD, select QuickTime. Select "Full Quality" and save a version of you movie as "titlefull".

Submit to your Lab Instructor: The web version of your movie.
