I C Necklace
- A necklace made of recycled electronic components -

I decided to put some of the old/ scrap electronic parts I had lying around to good use; so I turned them into a necklace for my girlfriend. The necklace is made entirely of recycled electronic components, solder, and a metal necklace chain (the only purchased part.) The electronic components used to build this necklace are:

  • (1) Lattice Integrated Circuit
  • (2) Capacitors, 10uF, 35-Volt, radial electrolytic
  • (8) Resistors, 0.25-Watt, axial
  • (8) Diodes, 1N4148, silicon

Ideally this necklace would have been constructed from RoHS-compliant (lead free) components. However, this was made from parts on hand as an "experiment" more than anything... so RoHS compliant construction was not possible nor achieved. The fact that it contains lead was disclosed to my girlfriend. No knawing on this necklace! Overall the final result turned out a bit "rougher" than I imagined, but it still went over well. Nerdy-present WIN!
